LANA HANNER (B Comm., B Compt (Hons), CA(SA), MBA)

Lana Hanner joined the East London office as a partner in September 2009.

She obtained her B Comm through Rhodes University and B Compt (Hons) through UNISA whilst completing her articles with KPMG. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1997 and moved to Deloitte and Touche as an assistant manager.

Thereafter she moved to academia and has lectured management, financial management and auditing to a post graduate level at the University of Fort Hare (previously Rhodes University East London), where she is currently the head of Auditing. She obtained her Masters in Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School in 2004.

Lana was a founder member of OHS Business Advisors and Chartered Accountants and a partner there for eight years.

She has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Her particular expertise lies in audit, training and quality assurance.

Lana has served on various South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) committees, including a term as the chairman of the Border Kei District Association and currently serves as a director and audit committee member of an NGO.

Her hobbies include reading, photography and watching rugby, particularly when her two young sons are playing.
